Fire Extinguisher Log
NFPA 10 Monthly & Annual Inspection Tracking
Fire Extinguisher Log keeps a per-unit inspection history for every extinguisher on a site — monthly
quick-checks and annual maintenance records tied to a due-date dashboard — so nothing quietly goes
overdue between rounds, and every inspection ends as a signed inspection report PDF.

What Fire Extinguisher Log does
- Per-unit registryRegister each extinguisher with its location, type, size, manufacture date, and last hydrostatic test date, so history is tracked by the physical unit, not by a loose paper tag.
- Monthly quick-check checklistRun the standard monthly visual check — pressure gauge in range, pin and tamper seal intact, physical condition, accessibility, signage — in a couple of taps per unit.
- Annual maintenance recordA separate, more detailed annual maintenance entry captures internal examination and recharge/replacement details distinct from the monthly quick-check.
- Due-date dashboardA single dashboard surfaces every unit that is overdue or due soon for its monthly check, annual maintenance, or hydrostatic test — sorted so nothing slips between rounds.
- Carried-forward defectsAn extinguisher flagged with a problem stays flagged on the dashboard until a follow-up entry records it as resolved or replaced.
- Inspection Report PDFExport a PDF for a single unit's full history or for a whole site's inspection round on a given date — ready to keep on file or hand to a fire marshal.
Fire Extinguisher Log is a recordkeeping tool. It does not perform or certify any inspection itself, does not replace inspection by a qualified person where required, and makes no claim of compliance with NFPA 10 or any state or local fire code. Confirm your inspection requirements with your local fire authority or a licensed fire protection contractor.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the app tell me whether my extinguisher passes inspection?
- No. It records what you enter for each checklist item. The judgment of pass/fail and any corrective action remains yours or your inspector's.
- Does the app know NFPA 10's exact interval requirements for my units?
- No. It gives you monthly and annual entry types and a due-date dashboard based on the dates you enter — it does not look up or apply code requirements for your specific extinguisher types or jurisdiction.
- Can I track hydrostatic test dates separately from maintenance?
- Yes. Manufacture date, last hydrostatic test date, and annual maintenance are all separate fields on each unit's record.
- Can I export a report for one site's inspection round?
- Yes. The PDF export can be scoped to a single unit's full history or to a date range across your whole registry.
