Q. How do I set up a vertical (tategaki) PDF?

A. Open Export → Vertical PDF. Choose a page size (A4 or B5) and set the characters-per-column and columns-per-page counts to match the manuscript-paper layout you want (a common default is 20×20). The preview shows the first page before you export, so you can adjust the grid until it looks right. Ruby text, emphasis dots, and line/page breaks in your markup carry over automatically, including proper vertical forms for punctuation and long vowel marks.

Q. How do I import an existing .scriv project?

A. Go to Projects → + → Import, then choose ".scriv project." This format (used by the Scrivener 3 writing app) is actually a folder, not a single file — pick that folder in the file browser (or its containing folder in Files/iCloud Drive) so Novel Binder can read its binder structure and each document's contents. Folders, texts, titles, and synopses are brought in as a Binder tree you can keep working on; formatting inside each document is imported as plain text.

Q. What formats can I export to?

A. Vertical PDF, horizontal PDF, EPUB 3 (with vertical-writing CSS available), Word (.docx), plain text, and Markdown. Plain text export can keep or strip ruby markup depending on the option you choose, and preserves whichever line notation (Kakuyomu/Narou-style) you used while writing.

Q. Where are my backups stored, and how do I restore one?

A. Novel Binder automatically creates a local backup once a day and keeps the 7 most recent. Go to Settings → Backup → "Back up now" to create one on demand, or "Restore" to roll back to an earlier one. You can also use "Export" to save a .novelbinder file (a zip archive) to the Files app, and "Import" to load it back in — handy before switching devices.

Q. Does Novel Binder sync across my devices with iCloud?

A. Not in this version. Everything is stored on your device only, which is a deliberate choice — a broken cloud sync losing a manuscript is exactly the problem this app is built to avoid. iCloud sync may be considered for a future update.

Q. Is there a subscription?

A. No. Novel Binder is a one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions, no auto-renewing charges, and no in-app purchases.

Q. How do I know my writing was actually saved?

A. The editor shows a save indicator ("Saved 12:34") and autosaves about one second after you stop typing. The most recent local backup time is also shown at the top of Settings.

Q. How do I delete all my data?

A. Uninstall the app. All projects, texts, snapshots, and local backups are stored only on your device and are removed with it.

A. 書き出し → 縦書きPDF を開きます。用紙サイズ（A4またはB5）を選び、1行の文字数と1ページの行数を、作りたい原稿用紙のレイアウトに合わせて設定してください（一般的な既定値は20字×20行です）。書き出し前にプレビューで最初のページを確認できるので、見た目が整うまでグリッドを調整できます。ルビ・傍点・改行/改ページはそのまま反映され、句読点や長音の縦書き用字形にも自動で置き換わります。

A. プロジェクト一覧 → ＋ → 取込 から「.scrivプロジェクト」を選択してください。.scrivプロジェクトは1つのファイルではなくフォルダなので、ファイル選択画面ではそのフォルダ（またはFiles/iCloud Drive内でそれを含む場所）を指定します。フォルダ構成・テキスト・タイトル・概要はバインダーのツリーとして取り込まれ、そのまま編集を続けられます。各文書内の書式はプレーンテキストとして取り込まれます。

Q. どんな形式で書き出せますか?

A. 縦書きPDF、横書きPDF、EPUB 3（縦書き用CSSを選択可能）、Word（.docx）、プレーンテキスト、Markdownに対応しています。プレーンテキストの書き出しでは、ルビ記法を残すか削除するかを選べ、執筆時に使ったなろう/カクヨム互換の記法もそのまま保持されます。

Q. バックアップはどこに保存されますか？復元するには?

A. Novel Binderは1日1回、端末内に自動でバックアップを作成し、直近7世代を保持します。設定 → バックアップ → 「今すぐバックアップ」で手動作成、「復元」で過去の世代に戻せます。また「書き出し」で.novelbinderファイル（zip形式）をFilesアプリに保存でき、機種変更前に作っておくと便利です。「取込」で読み込んで復元できます。

Q. iCloudで複数端末を同期できますか?

A. 現在のバージョンでは未対応です。すべて端末内にのみ保存する設計を意図的に採用しています（クラウド同期の不具合で原稿を失うことこそ、このアプリが避けたい問題だからです）。iCloud同期は今後のアップデートで検討予定です。

Q. サブスクリプションはありますか?

A. いいえ。Novel Binderは買い切り型です。サブスクリプション、自動更新の課金、アプリ内課金は一切ありません。

Q. 書いた内容がきちんと保存されているか、どう確認できますか?

A. エディタ上部に保存状況（「保存済み 12:34」）が表示され、入力を止めてから約1秒で自動保存されます。最新のローカルバックアップ時刻は設定画面の冒頭にも表示されます。

Q. データをすべて削除するには?

A. アプリをアンインストールしてください。プロジェクト・本文・スナップショット・バックアップはすべて端末内にのみ保存されており、アンインストールと同時に削除されます。
